Paul Ryan's first campaign speech as the GOP vice presidential candidate was slightly deterred Monday when protesters interrupted on stage.

A group of women berated the Wisconsin Congressman for his conservative policies while he was speaking to a crowd of 3,000 at the Iowa State fair.

"Stop the war against the common good," they said before one rushed onto the stage and was taken away by state troopers.

Ryan, 42, brushed off the complaints during his 12-minute speech.

"It's funny because Iowans and Wisconsinites, we like to be respectful of one another, and peaceful of one another and listen to one another. These ladies must not be from Iowa or Wisconsin," he said.

Ryan pushed for less government spending and criticized President Barack Obama for not doing enough to improve the economy.
