The graffiti mecca known as 5 Pointz in Queens will be razed after the City Council Wednesday backed a deal for new residential and retail space.
The owners of 5 Pointz — a Long Island City warehouse covered in graffiti — reached a deal with Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer to construct two residential towers with about 1,000 units, 210 of which will be deemed affordable.
In a nod to 5 Pointz’ legacy, 10,000 square feet of space will be designated to fill with graffiti.
