State Sen. Shirley Huntley is scheduled to turn herself into the state attorney general's office Monday to face unspecified charges.

The 74-year-old legislator told her constituents about her plans during an "emergency news conference" outside her Jamaica house Saturday and was adamant that she would prevail.

"I just want to say to my constituents that I will be arrested on Monday. I will turn myself in," she said.

The attorney general's office declined to comment about Huntley's remarks.

"The appropriate forum in which to respond to the senator is a court of law," James Freedland, a spokesman for AG Eric Schneiderman, said in a statement.

Last December, the AG's office indicted three members of a nonprofit that was created by Huntley for allegedly taking $30,000 in taxpayer dollars for their own purposes.

The accused, which included Huntley's niece, were supposed to use the money for education workshops.

The senator is running forre-election in next month's Democratic primary against City Councilman James Sanders, who didn't directly address Huntley's legal issues.

"In America a person is innocent until proven guilty. However, a culture of corruption has pervaded our state government in Albany," he said in a statement.
