Queens will be hosting a gun buyback program this weekend, which elected officials say will help stem rising violence in the borough.

Anyone who hands in a legal or illegal handgun at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jamaica on Saturday will receive a $200 gift card."Every gun taken off the street is a gun that no longer has the potential to kill," Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said in a statement.

State Sen. Malcolm Smith said Armani Exchange and Donald Trump are kicking in money for the program. "Providing a monetary incentive to help rid our neighborhoods of illegal guns will help make our streets safer," he said.
