After 31 years, countless hits and top-selling albums, it’s the end of the road for beloved alt-rockers R.E.M. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers announced the break-up on their official site Wednesday.
Without getting into specifics, they stressed the decision was a non-acrimonious one, and said that members Michael Stipe, left, Mike Mills and Peter Buck remain friends.
