Police in Woodbridge, N.J., confirmed Thursday that the Rangers fan seen on a YouTube video being brutally pummeled by Flyers fans on a Philadelphia street corner was one of their own.

Neal Auricchio, 30, also a decorated Iraq war veteran, was lined up Monday outside Geno's Steaks after watching the outdoor NHL Winter Classic game between the Rangers and Flyers.

Auricchio's wife told The Star-Ledger Thursday that her husband attended the game with a friend.

On the video, Rangers and Flyers fans were mingling outside the cheesesteak joint when three men wearing Flyers jerseys attacked a man in a Rangers jersey and then pounced on a second Rangers fan.

A man named Edward Neary posted a Facebook message Wednesday on the "Broad Street Hockey" page taking credit for the attack with his friends. His profile has since been deleted.

Philadelphia police were still searching Thursday for the suspects. Auricchio's father told NBC New York his son "got banged up pretty badly" and begged for his attackers to come forward.
