Rapper Jim Jones has made a return to a venue he'd rather avoid: a New York City courthouse.

The "We Fly High" rapper was arraigned Tuesday on charges of driving with a suspended license.

Jones signed autographs and took photos with fans as he left court, joking that he had been trying to stay out of the place.

Jones pleaded guilty there in 2009 to a misdemeanor assault charge for a punching friend of R&B crooner Ne-Yo's in a Louis Vuitton store.

Jones was pulled over in his Bentley last month. Manhattan prosecutors say his license had been suspended over an unpaid ticket. His lawyer says Jones didn't realize it.

Jones' "We Fly High" was one of the top-selling rap songs of 2007. His latest album, "Capo," was released this month.
