Rep: Michael Douglas is 'fine' despite Oliver Stone's claims

Michael Douglas’ publicist Tuesday dismissed director Oliver Stone’s worries about the actors’ recovery from throat cancer.

While promoting “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” in Berlin, Stone said Douglas’ “precarious” health prevented him from embarking on the film’s European tour.

After eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy, Stone, 64, said Douglas is still “suffering.”

While Douglas attended the film’s New York City premier three weeks ago, publicist Allen Burry said the actor nixed plans to tour Europe when he learned in August that he was battling Stage IV throat cancer.

“You can’t have eight weeks of treatment and go on a European tour,” Burry told amNewYork. “The doctors are very happy … he’s perfectly fine.”

“If Mr. Stone in Berlin knows something different, well, what can I say,” Burry added.

He said Douglas ended his treatments last week and faces up to eight weeks of recuperation.

Douglas, revived his Academy Award-winning Gordon Gekko role for the sequel to 1987’s “Wall Street.”
