'Ghost Protocol'

'Ghost Protocol' brings big action
You kind of know what you're going to get from a "Mission: Impossible" movie (Action! Action! Action!), and "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" delivers on those promises. The Tom Cruise franchise has had its ups and downs, but with the addition of longtime animation director Brad Bird ("The Iron Giant," "The Incredibles"), the series gets a much-needed shot in the arm. Bird expertly guides the film's many action scenes, including the big set piece: Tom Cruise dangling on the side of the tallest building in the world. The plot is irrelevant, though it is serviceable in its need to deliver the necessary capering, plot twists and a truckload of bullets. Its hard to deny that you won't at least be amused by the spectacle of it all. (DVD, $29.99; DVD/Blu-ray combo, $44.99)

'Shame'

Jon Benjamin, Kristen Schaal and Eugene Mirman. (DVD, $29.98)
