Rex Ryan: Mark Sanchez is still Jets' 'guy'

A day after Mark Sanchez and the Jets played perhaps their worst game of the Rex Ryan era, the head coach reiterated his belief in the franchise quarterback.
"He's definitely our guy," Ryan said of the fourth-year starter.
Sanchez completed only 13 of his 29 pass attempts for 103 yards with one interception in the Jets' 34-0 loss to the 49ers Sunday at MetLife Stadium. The performance marked his third consecutive game with a completion percentage under 47%. His quarterback rating has dropped lower each week, bottoming out at 39.9 in Sunday's loss.
With Tim Tebow, who runs the team's Wildcat package, waiting in the wings, the calls for a change under center have begun.
"Tim Tebow can come in and provide a spark and some type of optimism," NBC Sports analyst Rodney Harrison said on "Football Night in America."
At this point, his voice remains the minority. Former Jets coach Eric Mangini feels Tebow is only "part of the answer" for the team.
"There's a lot of issues that go far beyond the quarterback position," Mangini said on ESPN's "First Take."
Football fans in the city believe the time for change hasn't arrived.
"I love Sanchez. He's good for the Jets," said Brian Casal, a Jets fan from Hell's Kitchen. "Tebow should go back to Florida. He's not doing anything for the Jets."
"If Sanchez ain't ready, Tebow definitely won't be ready," said Xavier Rafael of Jersey City.--
