Roast gives end to Charlie Sheen's madness as 'Men' begins

After months of drug-induced insanity, bickering and all-out idiocy, the never-ending saga of Charlie Sheen is coming to a close: His hit series “Two and a Half Men” returns for its ninth season — without him — and he’s the focal point of a Comedy Central Roast where the jokes are surely going to be hitting a little more close to home then he’d like.
On the season premiere of “Men” (Monday at 9 on CBS), Sheen’s character is offed in a car crash, and after an exhaustive search, Ashton Kutcher steps in as billionaire Walden Schmidt.
Co-star Jon Cryer said that he believes the writers handled the character’s death “beautifully.”
“Change is often shocking,” he said. “And sometimes stuff you don’t see coming happens in life.”
At the roast, things won’t be handled quite as sensitively. Comic Amy Schumer took a dig at Sheen, comparing him to Bruce Willis.
“You were big in the ’80s, and now your old slot is being filled by Ashton Kutcher.”
