Russell Brand arrested in New Orleans

Russell Brand's having a bit of a hard time in the Big Easy, no?

After police in New Orleans issued a misdemeanor arrest warrant for the bawdy Brit - who is accused of throwing paparazzo Timothy Jackson's iPhone through the window of a law firm on Monday - the funnyman turned himself in. Brand was booked Thursday at 3:12 p.m. on a misdemeanor charge of simple criminal damage to property, according to RadarOnline.com.

"Russell's bail amount hasn't been set yet," an official at the sheriff's office told RadarOnline.com.

According to the booking sheet, Brand received parole at 3:38 p.m. but was still in custody at press time.
