And they're off!

The race to awards season has officially begun, with the Screen Actors Guild on Wednesday  announcing nominations for its 20th annual SAG Awards, which take place Jan. 18.

In the movie categories, "12 Years a Slave" led the pack, with noms for actors Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender and Lipita Nyong'o, as well as the entire lot of actors for Best Cast of a Motion Picture.

Competing against "12 Years" for the night's top honor are the flicks "American Hustle," "August: Osage County," "Dallas Buyers Club" and "Lee Daniels' The Butler."

SAG also awards the best in the year's television acting, with AMC's "Breaking Bad" and NBC's "30 Rock" coming out on top, nom-wise.

In other awards news, the Golden Globes nominations are being announced Thursday.
