Second body found in Hudson River boat crash
Officials recovered a second body from the Hudson River after a boat carrying a wedding party crashed into a barge Friday night near the Tappan Zee Bridge, according to published reports.
A body thought to be that of Mark Lennon, 30, the wedding's best man, was found by a person riding a water scooter in Piermont, about a mile from where the body of Lindsey Stewart -- who was set to marry Brian Bond, 36, on Aug. 10 -- was found Saturday, reports said.
Officials said Lennon and Stewart were likely thrown from the boat when it crashed into a construction barge anchored below the Tappan Zee Bridge. Six people were onboard, and the four other passengers were all hospitalized.
The discovery of the body came a day after the driver of the boat, Jojo John, 35, was charged with three counts of vehicular assault, said Rockland County Sheriff William Barbera. John was in custody at a hospital.
Officials said "there were signs of intoxication," but police are awaiting lab confirmation from a lab to determine whether John was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
