Security cameras coming to three big stations
As the MTA continues to sort out how to get security cameras running in the subways, the NYPD is going forward and hanging its own monitoring devices in three major transit hubs, according to agency board members briefed Wednesday.
The cameras will be placed along subway platforms in Penn Station, Times Square and Herald Square, with police monitoring the feeds, officials said. Cost estimates and a timeline for the beefed up security weren’t available Wednesday.
