Sen. Dick Durbin speaks on death of 15-year-old Chicago girl
At the Senate gun hearing Wednesday, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) spoke of a vibrant girl who had one of the "happiest moments" of her life performing at President Barack Obama's inauguration. A week later, she was shot to death.
A gunman killed Hadiya Pendleton, 15, outside of a Chicago park, on Tuesday. Pendleton was with other teens under a canopy, when shots rang out. The teen was not the target.
"Just a matter of days after the happiest day of her life, she's gone," Durbin said. "We have guns everywhere, and some believe the solution to this is more guns. I disagree."
