Service suspended on Flushing Line No. 7
Service on Flushing Line No. 7 between Manhattan and Queens has been suspended because the signal system in a tunnel sustained damage "due to an existing water condition exacerbated" by heavy rain, the MTA announced Friday.
"Emergency signal repair work is forcing severe disruptions this weekend," on the No. 7 line, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said on its website.
Long Island Rail Road customers unable to get to Long Island City, Woodside and Hunterspoint may take alternate subway service to Woodside, Jamaica, Penn Station or Atlantic Terminal for LIRR service. Fare Zone 1 tickets will be valid.
No. 7 line customers are "urged to use N Line service into Manhattan or transfer at Broadway-74th Street for Queens Boulevard Line service," the MTA said. "The service diversion is necessary in order to make repairs to the signal system in the Steinway Tunnel."
