Sexting? An app can stop that

Someone please buy Brett Favre and Tiger Woods this new app for their iPhones.

Apple has patented a new app that blocks people from sending each other dirty messages, or “sexting.”

While the app would most likely be used to protect kids, adult “sext” addicts may be able stay out of trouble with the app installed. Both Farve and Woods found themselves in sex scandals involving alleged naughty text messages.

Akin to the V-chip, which allowed parents to block adult content on their children’s computers, this program censors questionable words from text messages, either by redacting them or blocking the words entirely.

According to a Pew Research poll released last December, 15 percent of teens have received a sext message. And 4 percent said they sent nude or semi-nude photos to someone via text.

It’s unclear when the app will be officially released.
