Shake Shack has found its way to Miami Beach, Westport, Conn., and Dubai, but not Brooklyn - until now.

The beloved dessert and hamburger chain opened its first restaurant in the borough Tuesday, at 409 Fulton St. in Downtown Brooklyn, across from Borough Hall. Mayor Michael Bloomberg joined Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

"I have no doubt this will be the most successful outpost yet," Markowitz said.
