Sheryl Crow goes easy on ex Lance Armstrong

Sheryl Crow, who was once engaged to Lance Armstrong, is reacting to the disgraced cyclist's recent doping confessions.

"I think that honesty is always the best bet and that the truth will set you free," Crow told "Entertainment Tonight" when asked about Armstrong, 41. "To carry around a weight like that would be devastating in the long run."

The 50-year-old singer did not say whether she knew about Armstrong's drug use before his public admission. The two dated from 2003 to 2006.
