Singer Sheryl Crow is strong enough to laugh off a benign brain tumor.
Crow said she got the prognosis in November when she went to see a doctor because she was concerned she kept forgetting song lyrics on stage.
"I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI," she said in an interview published yesterday in the Las Vegas Review Journal.
"I was like, 'See? I knew there was something wrong,' " said Crow, who also recalled -- while laughing -- that she told Florida fans in May, "I'm 50. What can I say? My brain's gone to [expletive]" after she forgot a segment of "Soak Up the Sun."
But Crow said she's not concerned about the tumor, telling columnist Doug Elfman, "It's benign, so I don't have to worry about it. But it gives me a fit."
Crow, who is working on a new album, said she has a history of blanking on lyrics during performances.
She pointed to a performance in the 1990s when she forgot the intro to "A Change Would Do You Good."
"I started laughing so hard," she said.
"And I looked over at my guitar player, and he's bent over like he's gonna just start peeing."
