The rapper you knew as "Snoop Dogg" has switched species and is now "Snoop Lion," after being rechristened by a Rastafarian priest, the man born as Calvin Broadus Jr. announced at a news conference Monday.

Snoop, who is releasing a Rasta-influenced CD called "Reincarnated," told reporters he had a spiritual reawakening in Jamaica, where a Rastafarian priest informed him he was Snoop Dogg "'no more. You are the light; you are the lion.' From that moment on, it's like I had started to understand why I was there," he recounted, according to The Washington Post.
