A second person was arrested by the NYPD on Wednesday over a pop-up snowball fight in Washington Square Park in which the hand-pressed or rolled mass of snow struck responding police officers.
After an investigation by NYPD detectives, 18-year-old Eric Wilson Jr., of Harlem, was charged with obstructing government administration and harassment. His specific conduct was not disclosed.
Another participant in the blizzard snowball fight — videos of which went viral showing officers walking through a gauntlet of tossed snowballs — was arrested last month. He is Gusmane Coulibaly, 27, of the Bronx.
Video showed some participants throwing snowballs at the officers and at least one officer hurling a participant to the ground.
Two officers stuck in the snow fusillade sustained cuts to their faces and were recovering at home, according to the NYPD.
