Some closures and changes in observance of Veteran's Day

Friday is Veterans Day. Closures and changes in observance of the holiday include:

- Government offices, courts and schools will be closed.
- Mail will not be delivered.
- Alternate side parking rules will be suspended.
- Recycling will not be picked up, but garbage will.
- There will be regular weekday subway, bus, railroad and Staten Island Ferry service.
- Fifth Avenue, from 23rd Street to 56th Street, will be closed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the annual Veterans Day parade.
