The last thing Christopher Tierney remembers thinking was "Oh, God," as the Spidey double fell 30 feet from a platform during the Dec. 20 performance of Broadway's catastrophe-prone $65 million "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark."

Speaking to news anchor Dana Tyler in an exclusive interview that aired Monday night on Ch. 2 news, he said, "I was falling and then I saw once I hit the darkness of the stage, I had to just turn it real quick so I wasn't going to fall on my head and I crashed on my back."

Tierney, 32, seemed amazingly upbeat and cheerful about the fall that left him with multiple injuries, including three broken vertebrae that required surgery. Walking in a full Spidey-decorated body brace, he said the person or people who failed to tether him properly to the stage "came by and visited. Everything's forgiven and forgotten." He is expected to return home Wednesday to Portsmouth, N.H., but vows to return. "I am overjoyed to be working on the show," he said.

Meanwhile, Nick Wyman, president of Actors' Equity Association, posted on Facebook, that the fact "That Chris is not the first actor, nor the second, but rather the fourth to be injured on 'Spider-Man' is frustrating and maddening and, to some, infuriating."

On Thursday, the producers confirmed that Natalie Mendoza, who suffered a concussion Nov. 28 while playing the evil spider Arachne, has left the show. T.V. Carpio will replace Mendoza.
