St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City will embark on a multi-million dollar renovation of the 133-year-old Fifth Avenue edifice.
The $175 million facelift is slated to begin at the end of April and last at least two years.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan is expected to make the announcement on Saturday.
The New York Post reports that scaffolding and netting will go up inside and outside the midtown Manhattan church.
The work will include replacing crumbling marble blocks and refitting stained-glass windows from the 1870s.
It will be done every day from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., stopping for daily Masses.
