Starbucks has come down off its caffeine buzz long enough to usher in its first juice bar.
The coffee empire opened the flagship store of its new Evolution Fresh juice bar chain Monday in Bellevue, Wash., an upscale city just east of Seattle. Starbucks hasn't said how many of the juice bars it plans to open nationwide, but the sucess of the Bellevue store will be closely watched.
The juice bar will sell fresh and bottled fruit and vegetable juices, smoothies, and food items such as wraps, salads and soups. The menu will include vegan and vegetarian options.
Starbucks bought Evolution Fresh for $30 million in cash in November.
