MTV has dumped “Bridge & Tunnel,” a Staten Island-based reality show rumored to be too similar to “Jersey Shore,” a production insider told amNewYork.
The “docusoap,” which has been filming since May and follows young Staten Islanders hoping to make it in Manhattan, had been slated to air this fall.
“Ugh, they canceled it on me. I’m shocked that financially they would stop in its tracks,” the source said, adding the show was intended to be more like “The Hills” than “Jersey Shore" (cast shown above).
"I believe in the kids and I believe in the story to be told. It’s about how everyone believes they deserve better. Not everyone born with a silver spoon," the source added.
MTV officials declined to comment.
