The next two subway stations to get cell service will be Times Square and Rockefeller Center, according to the company wiring the stations.
Transit Wireless spokesman Pat Smith confirmed to amNewYork that the new stations will start offering AT&T and T-Mobile customers wireless service in "late July or early August."
Thirty stations will have service by the end of the year, including Herald Square and Columbus Circle.
Smith said the design work has begun and construction will start in the spring.
The company is still in negotiations with Sprint, Verizon and MetroPCS to offer service to their customers.
The details were first reported by the Wall Street Journal.
