Police caught two men redhanded as they allegedly tried to steal an iPhone off a sleeping straphanger over the weekend.
Three plainclothes officers observed Antonio Fulton, 23, of the Bronx, and Kevin Alexander, 50, of midtown loitering in the Brooklyn Bridge subway station around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.
The pair allegedly saw an unidentified 22-year-old man sleeping on a bench and while Alexander served as a looking, Fulton tapped the man's cheek to see if he was awake.
Ten minutes later, Fulton took the man's iPhone but cops moved in, woke the straphanger and arrested the two men. They also found two stolen smartphones in Fulton and Alexander's possession, police said.
