Susie Essman enthusiastic for stand-up

In her role as Susie Greene on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," comedian Susie Essman has become known as one of the great put-down artists in television history.

Her vulgar insults of Larry David and her TV husband, played by Jeff Garlin, are both shocking and hilarious, and are often the highlights of an episode.

But Essman is more than just Susie Greene. She's also an accomplished actress, author and stand-up comedian.

amNewYork spoke with her as she prepared for a run at Carolines comedy club.
