Suspect in Aruba death tried cashing million-dollar insurance policy

Gary Giordano — the Maryland man suspected of killing Robyn Gardner in Aruba earlier this month — tried to collect the $1.5 million insurance policy he took out on his 35-year-old travel companion, the Associated Press reported Thursday.

Giordano, 50, who is being held in jail, also had “explicit” photos of Gardner on his camera, Aruban authorities said. While officials declined to provide more details, a source told NBC News that the photos were “graphic and disturbing” and "beyond pornographic."
