The man suspected of fatally shooting a 14-year-old girl while she was on a Queens bus was arrested in South Carolina Tuesday, the NYPD said.
Kevin McClinton, 21, who was named a suspect in D'aja Robinson's death on Friday, was picked up in a city outside Columbia, S.C., without incident, according to law enforcement officials.
Officials with the U.S. Marshals Service in South Carolina aided NYPD investigators during the hunt for McClinton, according to Deputy U.S. Marshal Amanda Lyons. McClinton is awaiting extradition to New York.
McClinton is accused of shooting at a Queens bus that was idling on Sutphin and Rockaway boulevards in South Jamaica at about 9 p.m. May 18. One of the bullets pierced the bus and struck Robinson in the head. The teen, who was returning from a Sweet 16 party, was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
