A 28-year-old Scarsdale man was awaiting arraignment Wednesday night, charged with attacking, robbing, and trying to rape a 20-year-old NYU student early in the morning of Oct. 8 in Soho.

Glenn Williams, who has numerous previous arrests, was apprehended as a result of a tip, said police, who had released a video of the suspect. Williams was charged with attempted rape, two counts of robbery, sexual abuse and assault. Cops said he allegedly followed the student who was walking after 1 a.m. on Thompson Street between Spring and Prince streets, placed her in a choke hold from behind and tried to rape her before fleeing with her bag. The victim suffered facial injuries in the attack.
