A suspicious powder delivered in the mail to Metrotech Center -- the complex that houses FDNY headquarters in Brooklyn -- does not appear to pose an immediate hazard, a fire department spokesman said Monday.

Police responded to the incident, reported at 9:06 a.m., the spokesman said.

The spokesman said the powder came in the mail and that a hazmat team determined it was not an "immediate threat" to anyone who might have come in contact with it.

The FDNY said the investigation is continuing and that additional details were not available.
