Suspect charged with attempted murder escapes NYPD custody in Harlem, police say

A suspect facing an attempted murder charge escaped from NYPD custody in Harlem Tuesday night and remained on the loose, authorities said.
A handcuffed Tareek Arnold, 23, escaped just before 8 p.m. while being loaded into a vehicle that was leaving the 32nd Precinct station house near 135th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue, police said.
Arnold had been arrested and charged with attempted murder but police would provide no details about that incident.
