Teen in East Harlem shopping cart stunt must attend therapy

The 13-year-old boy who helped toss a shopping cart off a four-story walkway in East Harlem that injured a woman must attend therapy, not serve time, a judge ruled Tuesday.
The ruling in Manhattan Family Court requires the boy to attend six to 16 months at a boarding school.
A 12-year-old who also pleaded guilty in the Oct. 30 prank at the East River Plaza shopping center is awaiting sentencing.
The woman, Marion Salmon Hedges, 47, was hit in the head and will require months of rehabilitation, according to reports.
