Teen killed while playing with model helicopter in Brooklyn
A Queens teenager was killed Thursday when a model helicopter struck him in the head in Bath Beach, police said.
Cops and paramedics responded to the 911 call around 3:40 p.m. and found 19-year-old Roman Pirozek of Woodhaven unconscious in parkland near Shore Parkway and Bay 44th Street.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pirozek was a remote-control model airplane enthusiast who posted several videos of himself flying the devices on his YouTube page.
The NYPD said the investigation was ongoing, as officers remained at the scene throughout the afternoon and early evening hours to piece together how the accident occurred.
