Mark Teixeira and David Wright will share the infield for the U.S. team at the World Baseball Classic.

The team released its provisional roster on Thursday for the third edition of the tournament, which is held every four years. Formal rosters will be set on Feb. 20. The tournament begins in March.

"I'm excited about this team we put together and I'm pleased that the players seem to be equally excited," manager Joe Torre said. "That's important that these guys have the passion to represent [the] U.S.A. and hopefully we'll do good things."
