It is unlikely that the Texas father who admitted to beating to death a 47-year-old man he found allegedly molesting his 4-year-old daughter on Saturday will be arrested, according to Lone Star State news outlets.

The Lavaca County Sheriff said the 23-year-old father, whose name has not been released, was not arrested because the molestation story appeared to be true. However, the case will be presented to a grand jury.

The father told police that another child told him that a man had taken his daughter into the brush. When the father caught him partially clothed and molesting his child, he hit him several times in the head, he said.

The man who was killed has not been identified, pending notification of his relatives.
