With Father's Day this weekend, we spoke with a few local politician-fathers about their fondest memories of the day for dads.

Scott Stringer, Manhattan borough president: "The greatest Father's Day gift I'll ever receive is our son, Max, who is now 6 months old -- and I am thrilled to be celebrating my first-ever Father's Day with him."

Peter Vallone Jr., city council member: "As a divorced dad, the greatest gift my daughters give me every Father's Day is simply being together ... The second greatest gift is the poetry they have written for me over the years."

John Liu, city comptroller, on the best gift he ever received: "I remember my son Joey hunched over at his table working on something. Then he gave it to me and I've carried it with me every day since." (Pictured)

Marty Markowitz, Brooklyn borough president, on his unique fatherhood to an African Grey parrot named Beep: "I am always asking him what he plans to get me for Father's Day and, for whatever reason, he doesn't seem to understand."
