Another day, another version of “Star Wars” for your home-viewing enjoyment.
The two trilogies are forcing their way onto Blu-ray tomorrow with “Star Wars: The Complete Saga” ($139.99). While you — like myself — might have a bunch of different collections of the films sitting on your shelves already, this latest and greatest gewgaw is a pretty spectacular set. You also can buy each of the trilogies separately ($69.99 each).
Besides getting all six films — and I’ll forgo commenting on which version you’re purchasing — in the best possible visual and audio format, you’re acquiring 12 commentaries and hours of extras, some you’ve seen before, but many of which are new.
Among the most interesting of those extras for serious fans are the archives, which delve deeply into the props, costumes, concept art, and deleted and extended scenes.
Then you’ve got the eight documentaries, including “Star Wars Spoofs,” which collects clips and videos from the countless parodies, including those from “Family Guy” and “Weird Al” Yankovic.
