The Hub, a new television network that’s a joint venture between Discovery Communications and toy company Hasbro, might just be the new best friend of any child of the ’80s. Here are some of the gems you’ll find on the network:

‘G.I. Joe’
This classic cartoon about the battle between the “Real American Heroes” and Cobra (the enemy) finds it way back to TV after being away for years. It runs back to back with “Transformers.”

‘Doogie Howser, M.D.’
Neil Patrick Harris is a huge deal right now, but he was a huge deal 20 years ago too when he played the boy genius doctor. The series, created by Steven Bochco and David E. Kelley, will bring some much needed synthesizer music back to the boob tube.

‘Fraggle Rock’
We’d be fans of any Muppets on television, but “Fraggle Rock” is no consolation prize. This adorable series has some great Muppets — Red and Gobo are classic — but it was the tiny, ever-building Doozers who stole the show.

‘The Wonder Years’
Since we’re probably never going to see this touching series on DVD thanks to music rights issues, it needs to be running constantly on TV. Now you can fall in love with Winnie Cooper all over again.

New shows
The Hub is not just reruns. This fall, expect to see “G.I. Joe: Renegades” and “Transformers: Prime.”
