Tiger Woods secured his PGA Tour-leading fifth victory of the year yesterday at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. Woods has hoisted eight World Golf Championship trophies since the tournament’s establishment in 1999.

Woods finished 15 strokes under par for the tournament after shooting a par-70 in the final round. Second-place finishers Keegan Bradley and Henrik Stenson were seven strokes back.

Woods, who has been ranked the world’s No. 1 golfer since March 25, will enter Thursday’s PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester hoping to win his first major championship since 2008, his 15th overall.
