Tim Tebow may come to the New York Jets: reports
Could Tebowmania be New York-bound?
Shortly after the Denver Broncos announced Tuesday that Peyton Manning signed a five-year, $96 million deal to be the team's new quarterback, reports began surfacing that the Jets may try to snatch up Tim Tebow.
"We are players in the Tim Tebow race," a source said, according to New York Daily News reporter Manish Mehta. "He would be an answer to [our] locker room problems," the source said, Mehta added.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Jets have "discussed trading for Tim Tebow, even if it is considered a longshot."
Any potential negotiation for Tebow is far from a done deal, as he still remains a Bronco, though it's likely he will be traded from the team at some point.
Denver, which picked up the Florida star in the 2010 NFL draft, would likely have a relatively high asking price, as they had to give up three draft picks to snag Tebow.
Last season was his only one with the Broncos, going 8-8 and reaching the division playoffs.
