Today in NYC: 'Smurfs 2' premiere, Matsui retires, more [PHOTOS]
"Smurfs 2," set to hit theaters on Wednesday, premiered in the city Sunday at Lighthouse International Theater in the Upper East Side. Spotted on the blue carpet: Christina Ricci, Lilla Crawford, Fatima Ptacek, Eric West, Fabolous with Emily B and his son, June Ambrose and her two children, Debi Mazar and kids, Yaya DaCosta and two little ones, as well as Hank Azaria and his family, among others.
Meanwhile, up at Yankee Stadium, Hideki Matsui #55 waved goodbye to MLB and fans during his retirement ceremony prior to the game against the Tampa Bay Rays. And what a streak of good luck for the Yanks -- with Derek Jeter back on the field, Yankees won 6-5.
