'Today' is so yesterday: Meredith Vieira reportedly set to bolt
Big anchor news comes in twos.
First, Katie Couric announces she’s bolting “The CBS Evening News,“ and now Meredith Vieira, who replaced her on NBC's “Today,” is reportedly ditching the morning news show.
Meredith Vieira, 57, would leave in June, almost three months before her contract is set to expire, The Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.
Vieira will be replaced by current "Today" newsreader Ann Curry, and correspondent Natalie Morales will fill Curry's old role, the website reported, citing anonymous sources.
NBC didn't return calls for comment.
Vieira has said she wants to spend more time with her husband, who has multiple sclerosis, and their three children. She still hosts the game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire."
