A suspicious package that turned out to be a toy caused the Times Square train station to be shut down for more than an hour Monday, according to the NYPD and the MTA.

People were prevented from entering the Times Square station during an NYPD bomb squad investigation that ensued after a 1:30 p.m. call about the package near the A, C and E lines.

Trains on that line skipped the station until it reopened around 2:45 p.m., though there were residual delays.
