The Fourth of July holiday means changes to regular weekday transit service.

On Thursday, buses and subways will operate on a Saturday schedule, though there will be increased subway service before and after the Macy's fireworks event, affecting the No. 1, No. 3, A, C, E and L lines and the Times Square shuttle. Fireworks festivities will also cause service to stop on the Staten Island Ferry from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The transit system will see normal service after the holiday until the weekend. For the next 12 weekends, a shuttle bus will replace the final three stops on Queens-bound G trains. The Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 trains and A, C, E, F, M, N, Q, R and J trains will also experience changes this weekend.
