Tucson shooting suspect set to plead guilty Tuesday: Report

Jared Loughner, the accused gunman behind last year's shooting in Tucson, Ariz., is expected to plead guilty tomorrow to his various federal charges, according to a published report.
The U.S. attorney's office couldn't confirm or deny the Los Angeles Times' story that the 23-year-old, who killed six people and critically wounded Rep. Gabby Giffords and a dozen others at one of her campaign events on Jan. 8. 2011, would change his plea during a hearing Tuesday.
Among the slain victims was a 9-year-old girl who wanted to meet Giffords.
Loughner, 23, has spent the last year and a half undergoing psychological evaluations, and experts are set to testify that he is competent to stand trial, according to the Los Angeles Times.
If he goes to trial, Loughner faces the death penalty for numerous murder charges. It was not clear what type of sentence Loughner would get for his reported plea deal.
